Floral preservation is a process, called Freeze Dry that extracts moisture from the flowers with highly technical equipment called a Freeze Dry Machine. The Freeze Dry Machine, freezes your flowers then dries them creating dried flowers.Your flowers maintain a dehydrated state and our preservation experts seal the flowers to protect their natural shape.Freeze dried flower preservation is an art form that requires precision and a professional’s touch and experience.Frosted Floral Memories has been in the flower business since 1961creating outstanding “Wedding Dreams that Come True” see our sister store www.alicesfloralfantasies.com.Then now since 1991, we have branched out and included Wedding Bouquet preservation and Event Flower preservation, giving us five decades of flower experience!
Here is big "'ol Blue Alexander" on of our three FREEZE DRY MACHINES! We freeze your Wedding flowers at -20 degrees for 5-8 weeks until every flower inside the machine is dry! Hundreds and hundreds of happy satisified customers have been able to preserve their Wedding Bouquet or Event Flowers since we began our FREEZE DRY Business in 1991! We are one of the original pioneers in the Freeze Dry industry! "Alexander" was # 300 in the entire World when we got him!
WHAT WE DO ONCE WE GET YOUR FLOWERS!!!
At Frosted Floral Memories, when we receive your flowers, they are carefully and lovingly handled and cared for under our watchful eye while we have them in our possession. Once we have completed all three steps, which can take quite a long time, we will send the Flowers back to you as a completed Floral Memory ‘Treasure’ filled with all your other memorabilia from your Wedding or Event, if you choose to add mementos!
We do not take your flowers apart when we get your flowers, like many so called “preservationists”! WE Freeze Dry your flowers just like we get them because the stems dry in the exact curve or position where they are in the bouquet allowing us that special clue where they belong when we begin to put them back together again. Our powerful, ‘State of the Art’ Freeze Dry Machines, gently nudges all the moisture out, leaving your flowers perfectly beautiful, dry and life like!
FREEZE DRYING has gotten raving reviews from the GOOD HOUSEKEEPING MAGAZINE rating our method, vacuum freeze drying, as producing the most natural and long term results. Far superior from ‘Silica Gel’! ALL ribbons, pearls, rhinestones and crystals will stay where they are in your Flowers.
THERE ARE THREE STEPS TO FLORAL PRESERVATION
Step #1:
Once we receive your flowers, it depends if the Freeze Dry Machines are already in process or not. If the Machines are in process…your flowers will be placed into one of our ‘holding freezers’ which will keep them safe, like frozen Embryos, until it is time for our flowers to go into the Freeze Dry Machine. This “holding process” can take 8 weeks because your flowers might have arrived when we just started one Machine. We have to wait until the Machines finishes their cycle, especially if we just begin the machines when we get your flowers. This situation is the worst possible scenario and doesn’t happen often.
Once the flowers are in the Freeze Dry Machine, it takes 8 weeks for the cycle to complete drying all the flowers out! While you are waiting for all this time to pass…you can ponder if you are going to pick out a Display container or not. If you think you will want a Display Container go to our suppliers: www.inlineovals.com , www.customdisplaydesigns.comand our website www.frostedfloralmemories.com then email us with your decision. We will look up the prices and email back to you… That’s how we begin to get your flowers into a Container…once installation of flowers…we ship back to you.
If no Container, we will complete your flowers, once the bouquet is paid in full... plus shipping and packaging cost…which can cost $100 - $150 additional. Then we ship back to you. Payment can be made via check or PayPal. We will send you an invoice when requested.
STEP #2:
Once the flowers come out of the Freeze Dry Machine, we assign a spot on one of our ‘storage shelves’ for your flowers to ‘just wait’ until our can decide what you want to do with your flowers. We cannot do anything with the flowers until we get your decision! Hopefully you begin the selection process Display Container by looking at our supplier websites. Your choices for a Display Container are for the wall, in a “Bubble Wall Frame” or a tabletop “Glass Dome or Glass Tall Cube”…or we ship the flowers back to you. We do not do anything with your flowers until WE HEAR FROM YOU and find out what you have decided!!! When we hear from you and all Flowers and Display Container are completely paid for…then we can begin taking the flowers apart, then we re-shape, restore and protect every flower and petal to be bug resistant. AGAIN…we cannot begin to take the flowers apart to begin restoring and re-shaping your flowers… UNTIL WE HEAR FROM YOU FIRST and get your decision…
STEP #3:
Once the flowers are apart they go through the 3rd step of Color Treating and Sealing EVERY PETAL OF EVERY FLOWER!!! Once put back together…in a Display Container or back into the original Bouquet form…they can NEVER BE TAKEN APART AGAIN because they will rip into shreds!!!
***If we do not hear back from you within 6 months after your flowers come out of the Freeze Dry Machine…a $10 per month “Storage Fee” will be applied. ***If after 2 years of absolutely “NO CONTACT FROM YOU”…the Flowers literally abandoned…the deposit that we received from you will be put towards the 8 weeks in the Freeze Dry Machine as a charge and non-refundable, then the Flowers will be disposed of since the Flowers are too brittle to be able to complete step 2 and 3.
***If we finally hear from you after the first year…the Flowers will be re-priced to current prices and an additional “Older Restoration Charge” will be added because it will take longer time to work on the Flowers! WE must hear from you in a timely manner to be able to process the Flowers when they are fresher out of the Machine.
***It is YOUR responsibility to contact me during these processes from time to time!***
***We take the artistic PRIVILEGE TO MODIFY SOME FLOWERS slightly in order to get them into the Display Container or just back together. Sometimes we might have to re-locate a Flower so we can get them to fit and we try to come as close to the original color of the Flowers as possible. If the Flowers look painted…they are! The alternative is the color of Brown over the years. Some “Preservationists” (?) say the flowers will assume an antique look…which is absurd! They just don’t know how to color treat! When you see the Flowers on our Website and ‘like the look’…they are all color treated!!! Then you will be happy too!!!
***Once the Flowers leave our ‘Special Control” by being picked up or shipped…we cannot be heldresponsible for damage to the Flowers out of our ‘Special Control’
